Hi, ladies!

I am almost ready to hit the submit button on my order at Scrapbookpictures.com (http://www.scrapbookpictures.com/SBPView.jsp).

HOWEVER, I have not been able to find 8x8 albums that I love.

It has been suggested to me that ring albums are much easier in the long run versus post bound since I am not a chronological scrapper. I'll forever be shuffling pages around.

Should I get my pages printed 8x8 or 12x12?

What albums do you love?

Thanks for your input, girls! :)

I personally do 8 x 8. I love the smaller size on my shelf and they are easier for my kids to look thru since they aren't so huge. Can't beat the fact that they are cheaper too! :) I have been buyint the Maple Lane collection from EK Success, but they are being discontinued. I actually did a blog post (http://mandakay-everydaylife.blogspot.com/2007/08/my-scrapbooks.html) on it once. I think from now on I will buy the ring bound, not post bound. I am so frustrated trying to add pages and all that kind of stuff! Good luck on your scrapbooks and you will LOVE how they all turn out printed!!!

I prefer the 8x8 pages too. My main reason is because I can print an 8x8 page myself and not have the expense of having to have a 12x12 page printed. I love that I can just hit print after creating a page.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info Amanda. I was just thinking about this today. I just started digi scrapping this past November and am totally clueless about printing. So you are saying that you print each page individually and then place them in an album that you previously bought? I read through your blog but couldn't see the Maple Lane albums. Will have to study these sites you referenced tonite. Again...thanks so much for the info. I think I like the idea of printing individual pages as well. A friend of mine just printed her first Shutterfly book and it looked really nice. Makes me nervous about the expense and not being able to actually hold it before I pay. At least with an individual page you could redo w/o having to redo a whole book. Excited to see what others have to say!!! Jenny

Thanks, ladies!

What albums are you using for your 8x8 pages?

Has anyone checked the prices of printing a single 8x8 at scrapbookpictures.com compared to shutterfly.com? I tried to figure it out tonight but had a little trouble. I ordered 4 prints tonight from scrapbookpictures.com as a test. Hope I did it all right. Wish I would have known about the sale earlier. Probably won't get my tests in time to reorder the rest if they look good.

I am curious as well to see where everyone gets their 8x8 albums. I looked for Amanda's recommendations...but they must be definitely discontinued. Ring bound sounds the way to go!

This is so fun...a little stressful...but fun!!! :)

I do all my LOs in 8x8 and this is what my albums look like:
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m133/andreagraves/urbanchic6x6blacklg.gif

I LURVE them! They are from All My Memories and are the 8x8 Urban Chic albums. I bought like 10 or 12 of them a year ago for $12.99/ea. I wanted to make sure I could have enough to line up on my black beadboard shelves and they look perfect on them! I like the size being a little smaller, my little kids can hold them and not drop them, they don't hang off my book cases all ugly, it's just a happy thing for us!

So far I am using 5 of them, 2 for family albums, and one album for each of my 3 boys. They LOVE having their own books. I made little covers for each album with each child's name and photo in it, it's fun!

Hope that helps! :)

Well I am a 8.5x11 girl... but I have done gift albums in 8x8 and have to say I LOVE that size. If I was ever to turn "square" thats the size I would choose.

Sarah's blog post today shows the album I would choose next for 8 x 8 since the Maple Lane ones that I loved are discontinued. I do not really care for an opening on the front of the book for a picture - just personal preference, but the ones Sarah chose are nice and plain and classic looking!

I have the same 8x8 albums as Andrea. Love those albums!! I have one for each of my kids and several for the family.

I have a really good printer, however, it was extremely inexpensive. Its an Epson CX4800. It prints my pages SUPER. After rebates, I paid less than $100. To buy all 4 ink cartridges, its about $55. With new ink cartridges, I can print probably 20 8 x 8 pages.

Hollar if you have any more questions.

Soooo...I got my 4 test LOs today from scrapbookpictures.com. I really liked the 8x8 size. Ordered the ring album that Sarah suggested in hazelnut but haven't received it yet. Really excited to get it! I think I am going to like printing the pages individually instead of an album.
